THE PASSION FOR VINEYARDS AND WINE
Let us introduce ourselves!
The Quinta de Miramontes has been in our family for over a century.
Dispersed across harsh and unique vineyards, Quinta de Miramontes presents half slope floors with enough sunlight exposure and humidity to ensure the top quality of the wines.
The current owner’s father and maternal grandfather were the pioneers of the project.
The grandfather, Serafim Clemente da Mota, known as the “Sailor from Paredes”, was a true perfectionist. A diligent and proud producer of wines that gain prestige both in and outside the municipality.
In days past, it was normal to see ox carts loaded with pipes / barrels going in direction of his house at Paredes. The song produced by the ox carts tracks was lost, but the memories have stayed.
The father, António Pimenta Marinho, is an example of hard work and entrepreneurship.
They have both competed in honors and lands, some of them contiguous.
At the beginning of this century, the family has retaken the activity, acquired/purchased more lands, transformed others, planted vineyards, rebuilt old houses and built the first wine cellar.
The initiative became a true family project.
At some point, the wine cellar became too small.
Fortunately, the commitment to quality has revealed to be the right path and the best of prizes was given to our wines: the consumers’ preference.
To give answer to our growth, it is on progress the starting-up of a new building’s construction. One worthy of our new times and the excellent storage and winemaking equipment. Located in order to serve new tourist and commercial / trade goals.
We must also point out the commitment of our permanent employees. Without them, none of this would have been possible.
THE INFUSA WINES’ REGION

We are at Celorico de Basto.
In broad de Basto sub-region, the region of verde wines.
The vineyards are distributed across Fevença and Agilde, next to Amarante, Felgueiras and Fafe.
The de Basto sub-region is the most interior of all verde wines sub-regions and incorporates the municipalities of Cabeceira de Basto, Celorico de Basto, Mondim de Basto and Ribeira de Pena. Characterized by shallow, heterogeneous and majorly granitic soils. The soils medium to high level makes them less susceptible to maritime influence. The cold and rainy winters are complemented by warm summers, which favour the late ripening grapes variety.
Castelo de Arnóia: The castle was built to defend the local people and it is part of the castling movement that marked European history between the X and the XII centuries.
Igreja do Salvador de Fervença: A Romanesque origin church located at one of the hills of Esporão Streams’ valley. In the XIII century, it was under disagreements regarding its wide heritage.
Agilde is also famous for the pedra de Penouta, which is located at a mountain with the same nameand for casinhas do André. The latter is a unique sample of mini construction art.
Surrounded by tasty gastronomy, to visit Quinta de Miramontes is a win-win opportunity.
